Hub Cadet College gets girls block inaugurated

KARACHI: Global Hub School and Cadet College in Karachi's Malir district has inaugurated a new block exclusively for girl students, named after Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto. The block, with a capacity for 300 students, was inaugurated by First Lady of Pakistan and MNA Mohtarma Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on January 21.

This milestone event marks a significant step in empowering young women through education and leadership opportunities in Pakistan. The educational facility, spread over 240 acres, offers education from Class VI to Intermediate level and is affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad, and the Cambridge Assessment International Education.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sindh ministers for Health and Education, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and Sardar Shah, respectively. CEO of the education system, Lt Cdr (retd) Sohaib Farooq, and Principal Khuzaema Gauhar Siddiqui received the guests.

Addressing the gathering, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasised the significance of education for young women. "Today, we honor the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who believed in the transformative power of education for all, especially for women," she said, adding that investing in women's education is investing in the future of Pakistan.

Education Minister Sardar Shah pledged full support from the Sindh government towards the cadet school and college, while Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho extended her department's assistance towards the health and well-being of the school's students and staff.

CEO Sohaib Farooq highlighted the importance of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Block, emphasising that it would help foster leadership, cultivate skills, and provide quality education for young women. He also underlined the need for official support in terms of security arrangements, including the deployment of police in the cadet college's surroundings.
